Our Founders

Ben & Erin Murphy

Ben & Erin Murphy

Ben Murphy, a former U.S. Marine, and his wife, Erin, founded HandyVets to serve their community and fellow veterans.

Ben has 14+ years of experience in the construction industry as well as 10+ years of experience in sales and people management. He is a jack-of-all-trades who can figure out anything you throw at him but also knows when it is best to pass a customer on to a referral partner. His background and people skills make him an amazing boss, leader, entrepreneur, and contractor. Ben is our CEO and he manages the day-to-day operations of our technicians as well as everything relating to sales. Military Branch: Marine Corps

Erin has a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University with a concentration in Business & Computer Information Systems. She worked in corporate America for a number of years before falling in love with personal development and starting her own life coaching practice. Erin is our CFO and she coordinates special projects and human resources needs for HandyVets. Military Connection: Husband & Grandfather

Our HandyVets

Every HandyVets technician has served in the United States military and is employed by HandyVets (read: we do not hire our technicians as 1099 subcontractors). Once they join the HandyVets team, each employee completes an extensive on-the-job training program. Our technicians don’t “fly solo” until we know they can handle the responsibility of being a HandyVet. Our family of veterans truly embodies what it means to serve. We approach each project with the “mission mentality” that we learned through military training—a mentality of commitment, hard work, and integrity.
